Fortifying its position as the country’s leading developer of sustainable and environment-friendly integrated urban townships, Megaworld spearheaded in partnership with the local government of Iloilo City the annual Iloilo Bike Festival, now celebrating its second year, in Iloilo Business Park.

The programme was attended by key city government officials headed by Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Vice Mayor Jose Espinosa III along with members of the city council; Cesar Drilon, brother of Senate President Franklin Drilon; and Megaworld’s marketing head for Iloilo Business Park Jennifer Ann Palmares-Fong. Last year, Megaworld and the Iloilo City government inked a memorandum of agreement enabling the celebration of Iloilo Bike Festival inside Iloilo Business Park until 2024

Megaworld’s hosting of the Iloilo Bike Festival in Iloilo Business Park strongly manifests the company’s commitment to promote healthy lifestyle and reduce carbon footprint by supporting usage of bikes inside the township. Bike lanes will be built in Iloilo Business Park in order to encourage bike usage. Following the LIVE-WORK-PLAY-LEARN township lifestyle concept pioneered by Megaworld, the master-planned layout of Iloilo Business Park, wherein residential, office, commercial and learning establishments are within reach, allows for less usage of vehicles resulting in reduced carbon emission.

Riding on the theme “Iloilo: On the Road to Bike-able Progress,” the 2nd Iloilo Bike Festival comprised of a weeklong series of bike-related events within Iloilo Business Park. Other activities that highlighted the festival which started on April 27 were a bike exhibit, bike training, Fun Bike Games, BMX Flatland, Pinta Siklista, Kiddies Bike Activities, a folding bike event and a concert.
